From 1990 to 1995, IGEL (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. established itself as a pioneer in the contact lens industry. Founded in 1990,
the company quickly introduced innovative products, including the award-winning NU-TORIC 38 and NU-TORIC 58 in
1991, recognized for their patented design in Australia (1989). Over the following years, IGEL expanded its product line
with the launch of CD38, CD58, CD67, CD77, CDA, and CDP in 1992. In 1993, the company introduced a range of contact
lens care solutions, including IGEL PLUS MPS, IGEL CLEANER, and IGEL PROTEIN REMOVER TABS. By 1994, IGEL further
strengthened its portfolio with the release of RGP THETA and Optimeyes, the industry's first multi-purpose solution in
tablet form. These advancements underscored IGEL’s commitment to innovation and excellence in eye care.
1990 -1995
From 1996 to 2003, IGEL (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. expanded its product range and tech-
nology. It introduced Cast Molded Contact Lenses (1996), UV.BLUE and OMEGA 56
(1997), and custom SA LENS & SA TORIC LENS (1998). In 1999, IGEL entered the oph-
thalmic lens market, followed by optical frames (2000). The launch of ENCORE T
Toric Disposables (2001) and an expanded disposable lens range (2002) further
strengthened its offerings. By 2003, IGEL solidified its leadership with ENCORE 1, AIO
MPS, Comfort Drops, and IGEL RGP MPS, advancing vision care innovation.
1996 -2003
From 2004 to 2009, IGEL (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. continued its innovation in eye care. It in-
troduced specialty lenses like SHU QI, EE CONUS, and NORMAL GP (2004) and expanded
into daily disposables and orthokeratology with I FRESH 1-DAY and ELENS (ORTHO-K)
(2005). In 2006, IGEL received the Super Excellent Brands Award and ranked among the
Top 20 Excellence Health Products. New product launches followed, including OMEGA 38
(2007), ENCORE COLOUR & NATURA (2008), and NU-TORIC GMA (2009), reinforcing its
leadership in vision correction.
2004 -2009
From 2010 to 2016, IGEL (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. expanded its cosmetic and vision care
range. It introduced I-DAZZLE, MAGIC BLACK (2010), MAGIC LX, GOLD, FOXI (2011), and
MAGIC POP BASIC (2012). By 2013, IGEL launched AIRE MPS and HA Contact Lens Drops,
followed by MIACARE Monthly, 1-Day (Silicone Hydrogel), and MAGIC POP NEON (2014). In
2015, MAGIC POP ORIGINAL and AIRE RGP MOIST joined the lineup. The company further
strengthened its offerings in 2016 with ENCORE A (2 pcs), AIRE CD & TORIC series, enhan-
cing vision correction options.
2010 -2016
In 2017, Apple Vision Sdn. Bhd. was established, continuing
IGEL’s legacy in advanced vision care.
From 2017 to 2025, Apple Vision expanded its product in-
novation, global reach, and industry partnerships, solidify-
ing its position as a leader in contact lenses and lens-care
solutions.
